Wine Shop | Unison Vineyard
Unison Vineyard was established in 1993 and lies in the heart of the Gimblett Gravels Winegrowing District in Hawkes Bay. Just 6 hectares in size, Unison Vineyard is tended by the hard working and highly successful husband and wife team of Anna-Barbara and Bruce Helliwell. The couple consistently craft super-premium red wines and have received international recognition and acclaim placing them amongst the red wine elite of the world. 2007 saw the first white wine from Unison - Pinot Gris. Volumes are limited and allocation requests are recommended to avoid missing out.

A blend of Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon created as a very fine food wine. Perfectly ripe fruit aged mainly in big casks of Slovenia oak. The wine shows great depth in concentration of fine cherry and berry fruit aromas combined with fine floral notes. The palate is complex and round. Ripe and silky tannins give the wine a great balance through to a long and elegant finish.

Unison Selection is regarded as one of NZ's top labels. Internationally this brand is recognised as a truly world-class wine. Created in the vineyard during the entire growing season as Selection. A blend of Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. Like the UNISON brand overall balance and harmony is paramount. Aged for around 20 months in barriques the wine is transferred to large casks for a final gentle harmonising process of around 5 months. Almost black in colour Unison Selection has an aristocratic aroma ranging from blackberries to plum complexed with notes of nuts and spices. The palate is rich, concentrated, wonderfully balanced and full of the flavours suggested on the nose. Finely structured and soft tannins lead to a beautifully long and lingering finish. Being so well balanced, this wine can be enjoyed when young but has significant cellaring potential up to 15 years.
